Houston Police are urgently seeking assistance from eyewitnesses who may have attended a party that spiraled into chaos Saturday night. Officers responded to a call regarding an active shooting around 11:20 PM, only to arrive at a scene marked by confusion and panic. Assistant Chief Luis Menendez-Sierra reported that many of the individuals fleeing the makeshift club, located in the 10100 block of Jensen Drive, were primarily juveniles. This site, seemingly an abandoned business repurposed for the event, appears to have been promoted through social media—a growing trend that has raised concerns within the Houston Police Department.
Upon arrival, officers found multiple people injured and others scattering in various directions. Homicide investigators are currently working to identify suspects and vehicles involved in the incident.
In total, five people were shot, with two fatalities and one person critically injured. Menendez-Sierra confirmed a 16-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl tragically died from their injuries. A 13-year-old is in critical condition at Texas Children’s Hospital and a 19-year-old female drove herself to LBJ Hospital for treatment. Details regarding a fifth victim were not disclosed during the overnight briefing by HPD.
The Houston Police Department is appealing to anyone—especially those who were present at the party—to step forward with information. They can contact Crime Stoppers at (713) 222-TIPS.
