Christine adopted Lacey years ago, and from day one, the tiny dog became her constant shadow and emotional anchor.
Recently, Christine received devastating news: Lacey was diagnosed with stomach cancer. As the tumor has grown, it has caused significant discomfort, leading Lacey to bite at her stomach until an open wound formed. Watching her companion suffer is agonizing, but living on a fixed income without transportation has left Christine facing impossible logistics to get Lacey to a veterinarian who can help.
When life happens fast, standard relief channels and large nonprofit timelines can feel miles away. Christine reached out to Houston City Beat hoping to connect with a compassionate local veterinarian willing to examine Lacey, manage her wound, and provide relief so her final chapter can be dignified and pain-free.
