The PTSD Foundation of America is dedicated to bringing hope and healing to veterans and their families affected by combat-related post-traumatic stress. Established in 2005 as a grassroots initiative, our 501(c)(3) organization began with a passionate group of volunteers seeking out homeless veterans on Houston’s streets. Their vision was clear: to reduce the staggering veteran suicide rate through targeted programming and outreach services.
The need is urgent. Over the past decade, 80,000 veterans have died by suicide—a number exceeding the 58,000 American soldiers lost in action during the Vietnam War. The Veterans Health Administration estimates that 44 veterans take their own lives each day.
Guided by their mission, PTSD Foundation of America has grown into a nationally recognized nonprofit, transforming lives by providing comprehensive support to combat veterans and their families. Their programs address the complexities of post-traumatic stress, enabling veterans to rebuild their lives and become thriving, productive members of their communities.
