A veteran’s contribution to a city can begin with something as direct as a conversation: a lesson from the past, an introduction or time spent helping someone find a way forward.

For Mike Martin, that work includes education and business mentorship. His published biography describes service as a U.S. Navy Supply Corps officer, including a year in Da Nang beginning in 1969. He was honorably discharged in 1972.
