Neptune Mold Solutions provides forensic-level environmental inspections and indoor air quality testing for residential and commercial properties. Unlike many in the industry, they operate with a strict no-conflict-of-interest policy; they do not perform the remediation themselves. Instead, they provide the scientific “truth” – detailed protocols and legally defensible reports that homeowners and property managers need to ensure their environment is safe and their liability is cleared.

What We Solve
In a humid, coastal environment like Houston, mold is often an invisible threat that jeopardizes both physical health and property value. Neptune Mold Solutions bridges the “Trust Gap” that often exists between homeowners and high-priced remediation companies. By maintaining a strict no-conflict-of-interest policy -meaning they never perform the cleanup themselves – they solve the problem of biased reporting and predatory sales tactics. They provide the scientific “truth” through law-enforcement-grade moisture mapping and air quality testing, giving clients the legally defensible data needed to hold insurance carriers or landlords accountable. Ultimately, they provide a clear, technical roadmap to a valid Certificate of Mold Remediation (CMDR), ensuring that a property’s air is safe and its owner’s liability is fully cleared.
Services
Forensic Mold Inspections: Deep-dive investigations using law-enforcement-grade attention to detail.
Air Quality & VOC Testing: Comprehensive scientific analysis of indoor environments.
Litigation Support: Expert witness testimony and forensic documentation for mold-related legal cases.
Moisture Mapping: Utilizing advanced technology to find the source of water intrusion before it becomes a catastrophe.
Post-Remediation Verification: Final “clearance” testing to ensure a contractor’s work was done correctly.
The Backstory
Origin Story
The foundation of Neptune Mold Solutions wasn’t built in a classroom, but in high-stakes environments where precision saves lives. Founder Chris Hayes spent nine years as a Sonar Technician on a nuclear-powered Navy submarine before serving a decade as a Sergeant Investigator with the Texas DPS. After achieving the rare “Triple Master Restorer” designation (the PhD of the restoration world), Chris and his wife Kristina saw a desperate need in Houston for an inspection firm that operated with the integrity of a peace officer and the technical “mission-first” discipline of the military.
Ideal Clients
Neptune Mold Solutions serves Houston property owners, facility managers, and real estate attorneys (such as Just Well Law) who require bulletproof evidence and expert advocacy for complex environmental cases.
Core Values
At the heart of Neptune Mold Solutions is a commitment to integrity over “quick fixes.” They prioritize the long-term health of their clients over easy profits, ensuring that every inspection follows a strict “Chain of Custody” and forensic-level scientific protocol. This dedication to accuracy is fueled by a spirit of advocacy; Chris and Kristina believe that every Houstonian has the right to breathe clean air and the right to understand the legal protections available to them when dealing with toxic environments.
Connected to the Community
As a Veteran-owned and family-operated business, Neptune Mold Solutions views their work as a continuation of their service to the public. They are deeply integrated into the Houston community through:
Veteran Leadership: Bringing the discipline of the U.S. Navy and Texas DPS to local small business.
Tenant Advocacy: Chris often provides investigative insights for those suffering in unsafe living conditions, helping them navigate the legal hurdles of breaking leases in toxic homes.
Education & Awareness: Through their upcoming podcast, ‘Mold & Marriage,’ they explore the often-ignored emotional and relational strain that toxic environments place on Houston families.
Non-Profit Vision: They are currently laying the groundwork for a non-profit dedicated to helping sick tenants afford the legal and moving costs associated with environmental displacement.
