Beatriz Bellorin and Carolina Otero, both originally from Venezuela, explore the themes of migration and motherhood in their exhibition Grounded in Fragments. Their works reflect the challenges of displacement and the search for connection, drawing on their personal experiences to create a dialogue with nature. Through photography, video, installation, and collage, they gather and reimagine fragments of memory and emotion, capturing the intersections of nature, identity, and the shifting realities of their lives. The exhibition also touches on different aspects of motherhood, from the tender and grounding moments to the struggles of navigating new environments. Grounded in Fragments will be on view at Throughline, an artist collective in Houston, Texas, from November 15 to December 7, 2024. Make sure to watch the video story below.
