Get ready to experience nomihoudai, Japan’s iconic bottomless drinking culture, alongside international DJs, Japanese drinking games, and Nintendo Switch battles.
Houston’s nightlife scene is getting a major Tokyo upgrade this month. On Saturday, July 25, Tokyo Story USA is bringing the Sakenaut Festival to Power Station Bar & Lounge for an immersive, 12-hour celebration of Japanese drinking culture, gaming, and club music.
Running from 2:00 PM to 2:00 AM, the 21+ event centers on nomihoudai, a beloved concept in Tokyo’s izakayas and nightlife districts that translates to all-you-can-drink. Festivalgoers can sample a wide lineup of imported sakes and custom sake cocktails throughout the afternoon and late into the night.
Beyond the bar, Sakenaut fuses pop culture and nightlife with interactive Japanese drinking games and dedicated Nintendo Switch setup zones for casual play between drinks.
World-Class Beats Straight from Tokyo
The event peaks with an intense late-night DJ lineup headlined by two standout performers flying in from Japan:
- DJ Senna: A global power in the electronic scene, Senna holds titles as the #1 DJ in Japan, #3 in Asia, and #19 worldwide, and made history as the first Asian female artist to perform at Defqon.1 in 2024.
- DJ TSÜBEE: A multilingual selector fluent in five languages (Japanese, English, Korean, Chinese, and Spanish), TSÜBEE brings an energetic mix of open-format club bangers, EDM, and anime/cosplay party culture tied to Tokyo’s vibrant Sexy Nerds nightlife scene.
