Houston City Beat is hosting an evening at The Met Athletic Club designed around something Houston runs on every day: relationships.
Hosted inside Benchmark Kitchen & Tap and The Met’s Golf SIM lounge, this mixer brings together business owners, entrepreneurs, professionals, creatives, community leaders, and Houstonians looking to build meaningful local connections in a relaxed environment.
This is not a traditional networking event built around awkward introductions and recycled elevator pitches.
The atmosphere is intentionally social, approachable, and community-focused, giving guests the opportunity to meet new people, exchange ideas, and enjoy conversations that happen naturally throughout the evening.

The HCB Connections Card Experience
At 7 PM, attendees will receive the Houston City Beat Connections Card, an interactive social experience created to help conversations happen naturally throughout the room.
Instead of relying on forced introductions, the Connections Card encourages guests to meet new people through shared experiences, Houston-themed prompts, conversation starters, and interactive challenges.
The experience transforms the evening into something more engaging, social, and memorable while helping attendees connect beyond surface-level small talk.
It’s networking without feeling like networking.
The Golf SIM Challenge
Guests can also step into The Met’s Golf SIM lounge and participate in the evening’s Golf SIM Challenge.
Whether you’re competitive or simply taking your first swing, the simulator room has become one of the most interactive and social parts of the mixer experience.
Participants will have the opportunity to compete for a featured prize while enjoying one of Houston’s more unique networking environments.
