A Houston City Beat Initiative
Community Kites: Houston Nonprofit Stories
Community Kites brings Greater Houston’s nonprofit organizations, leaders and community impact into clearer public view—so consequential work can be seen, understood and supported.
The Mission
Lifting the people who move Houston forward.
Across Greater Houston, nonprofit founders, Executive Directors and Boards are responding to the region’s most important needs. Community Kites equips these leaders with credible visibility and useful information that can help their organizations communicate clearly, reach new audiences and extend their missions.
As an extension of Houston City Beat’s multimedia platform, Community Kites applies the reach and discipline of local media to a singular purpose: amplifying the organizations creating meaningful impact in our communities. Here, Houstonians can meet the people behind the work, understand the issues they address and find meaningful ways to participate.
Community Kites is a media-driven community initiative of Houston City Beat. It is not a nonprofit organization.
