After nearly two decades owning a moving and storage company, he launched his health insurance business in 2018, driven by a mission to support individuals, families, and especially fellow self-employed professionals in securing quality health coverage that truly fits their needs.
Derek specializes in customizing policies across both public and private markets, leveraging multiple carrier partnerships to ensure his clients have every option available, not just one product or company. His dedication to empowering Houston’s entrepreneurs extends beyond his business: through the Community Connectors program, he’s expanding his network city-wide to collaborate, refer, and uplift other professionals making an impact across Houston.

With over 26 years of business ownership, Derek’s superpower lies in helping new entrepreneurs launch and grow their businesses the right way, and avoiding the costly mistakes that many make early on.
