This series explores four distinct chapters of that story: the people who laid the foundation, the families carrying it forward, the modern founders creating new paths, and the community leaders expanding opportunity for the generations still to come.
Why begin with business? Because behind every restaurant, music venue, market, studio, professional practice, and neighborhood storefront is a deeper story. When Houston’s Hispanic entrepreneurs opened their doors, they also made space for family traditions, regional flavors, music, language, and ideas carried from many countries and shaped anew in Houston. Business gives this series its structure; culture, migration, identity, and community reveal what those enterprises truly mean.
