Meet your storyteller
He grew up with the game.
He’s keeping its stories alive.
For Mike Acosta, Houston baseball is personal. A Houston native raised on Astros games and visits to the Astrodome, he turned a childhood passion into a career preserving the game’s history.
His 22 years with the Astros spanned broadcasting, historical preservation and authentication, including helping create the Astros Hall of Fame. As a baseball and Astrodome historian, he connects the artifacts and milestones to the people who give them meaning.
Through Houston City Beat, Mike brings those stories to life—celebrating the memories, traditions and hometown pride at the heart of baseball in Houston.
