A Houston Native With a 25-Year Artistic Journey
Cassandra is a Houston native whose artistic journey spans more than 25 years. After transitioning from the corporate world, she found her calling in painting with oils and acrylics. During the years she dedicated herself to her young family, her artistic practice flourished.
Inspired by nature, she created “Freedom,” an abstract oil painting featuring a blue butterfly. That work became a turning point and helped propel her toward the innovative use of real, preserved butterflies in her art.
The Timeless Beauty of Butterflies, Preserved Through Art
Her creations include butterfly cloches and luxury clocks adorned with real preserved butterflies. Her work has appeared at the Houston Museum of Natural Science and at galas associated with the Houston Grand Opera and the Alzheimer’s Association.
Central to her practice is the idea of “the timeless beauty of real butterflies resurrected through art.” Each butterfly is selected for its natural color and form, reflecting her focus on preservation and reverence for nature.
Butterfly Clocks and Cloches With Meticulous Craftsmanship
From selection to placement, Cassandra’s process emphasizes detail, balance, and preservation. Her clocks function as fine art, while her cloches draw attention to the patterns and colors present in the natural world.
