I recently attended Spring Branch Community Health Center’s 2026 Fall Harvest Luncheon at the Junior League of Houston. Thank you to my friend Gabriela Gerhart, founder of Motherhood Center and this year’s luncheon chair.
My favorite part of the afternoon was hearing from the patients. They shared how the center had helped them and their families, and those stories stayed with me long after the event.
It’s one thing to hear about the work an organization does. It’s another to hear directly from someone whose life has been changed by that care.
The luncheon supported the center’s fundraising and awareness efforts. We also heard about plans for a Total Health Campus and got a look at the center’s new branding.
There was plenty to look forward to, but I kept thinking about the people who shared their experiences. Parents, children and families need somewhere to turn when they need care. Hearing from them was a reminder of why supporting community healthcare matters.
Take a look at our video from the afternoon below.
